Twas the Night Before Christmas. . .

Kent preparing a letter, cookies and milk for Santa!
Every Christmas Eve for the last few years, Kent has eaten his dinner quickly and without complaint. Then he begs us to do bedtime stuff as quick as possible so that he can get to sleep. He believes in Santa whole-heartedly and won't dare be caught being awake when the big guy gets here! Tonight, when Aaron went to start a fire in the fireplace, he about had a heart attack--so no fire. Then he insisted we leave the fireplace doors open. We gave the kids their Christmas pjs: Kent got Super-Mario, Evelyn got Sleeping Beauty fluffies (I felt so lucky to find these in wal-mart, the only pair and in her size. She loves wearing fluffies and Sleeping Beauty is her favorite princess.), Oliver got to wear his red fluffies (the kid has too many pjs to justify a new pair), Aaron got a robe (much needed, for the neighbors sakes), and I got soft candy-cane looking pjs.

Holiday Fun at Playgroup~

Last week at playgroup we made these cute hand and foot print reindeer shirts. So the kids modeled them this week for some photos. Kent joined us, and was excited that another friend from 2nd grade was also there!

I wanted to share a sweet story, that will preserve the life of my oldest son a little longer! Yesterday morning I heard Kent calling to me, "Mom come here." With which I replied "What do you want?" (trying to delay getting out of bed). "I need a hug and a kiss!" So I got up and stumbled into his room for the desired affections. He then pointed out that he had already been out of bed and cleaned-up his room to surprise me!
Just when you think you're on the verge of adopting your children out, they go and make you love them a little more! Kent has a pure heart and our family wouldn't be complete without him. Although, today he proclaimed that when he grows up he is going to be an evil inventor that will take over the world, no the universe!
PS--Kent has become an excellent reader and amazes us each day with his talent!

Just another Snowy day! After Aaron shoveled the driveway and walks, the kids decided he needed to pull them on sleds, begin building an igloo, and creating paths around the yard.
It's a rare thing to see Kent doing hard labor without complaint!

Oliver recovering from being outside, he subjected Shannon to his favorite show "Teletubbies."

Grandma Kim's Quilt Creation~

My Mom makes a quilt for each daughters' family every year and this was our year! We received in the mail this week the rewards of her hard work and our overjoyed. Thank you Mom!

The St. Johnsbury Preschool Wildlife Tree Party~

For the last day of school before a 2 week vacation (how will I ever survive?), the kids in preschool and kindergarten decorated trees with goodies for birds and other creatures. Evelyn made a bagel covered in peanut butter and birdseed , and a necklace of fruit loops. Then they read a story, sang songs, and had hot chocolate and cookies (my daughter proudly proclaimed that she had eaten four). Of course, in true Vermont style, this was all done in about 10 degrees-although that seems generous!
Evelyn's teacher Ms. Julie leading everyone in carols, which I frequently saw Evelyn shaking her booty too!
Since the party didn't begin till 1:45, Oliver missed his typical 3 hour nap and was ready for bed an hour earlier than normal! We just had to endure him till the time came. Aren't they beautiful kids? I think so!
Evelyn's best friend Katie! Of course, after the photo Evelyn threw that snowball at her. She is still working on being considerate of others.

Introducing Peaches and Shannon We have had the pleasure of having 16 year old Shannon spend the last few weekends with us. Aaron has been giving her driving practice, a faith promoting experience for both! Shannon loves animals and the kids enjoyed her putting our cockatiel, Peaches, on their head.

There's nothing more sweet than a sleeping baby.

2nd Half of Halloween. . .Trick or Treating with Dad--the question is "who wanted the candy more, Dad or the kids?"

BABY DUE: MAY 30, 2009

I saw this cute baby countdown timer on the Rayburn's blog and have wanted to use it, but you have to have a due date. I had a quick ultra-sound today to determine just that. I told the doctor I thought I was 11 weeks, he had skepticism---but sure enough I am 11 weeks and 2 days, not bad! So hopefully the morning sickness will ease up soon and my kitchen will start smelling better to me.
Oliver also had his 15 month check-up and was determined to be a perfect specimen! He weighs 22.5 lbs (25th percentile) and is 31.5 inches (70 percentile). He is a walking madman and currently is developing talents in slamming doors and dumping out anything and everything. He can say "Mom", "Dad", "dog", and "Gone" (indicating the food is all gone). Oliver is our sweet maniac!

~Wedding of Amanda Lindeen & Jonathan Heller~
Beautiful bride in her dress made by KellieAnn Fryer.
Ceremony held in Littleton, NH at Bishop Fryer's home.

Amanda took on the insane task of hand sewing thousands of beads to her dress.
I had the pleasure of decorating for their reception, I admit that it was nicer in person!

Bishop Fryer and his wife KellieAnn, gave them "Passion Pills" for the honeymoon!
