1st half of Halloween. . .thank goodness it's only one day a year!Gloria, the children's librarian held a Halloween Parade through the library, past the fire station, and to the St. Johnsbury House to visit the elderly. The kids past out small bags of candy along the way. I didn't realize there was no school today and had my first midwife appointment today at the hospital. So I had the joy of taking the three amigos with me for an hour and a half and then the library, later we have 2 parties to go to tonight! Visiting dad on his lunch hour! Too bad we forgot to bring lunch!:(

We would like to thank Deanna Cook for the costume from Wells's birthday party.
You can always count on Evelyn for the dramatics.
Oliver the Turtle's favorite spot in the library, the computer. Michelle (and Oliver) work the lunch shift three times a week at the St. Johnsbury Atheneum and Oliver has become quite comfortable with the surroundings there!

It's quite difficult to take a photo of this fast-moving turtle.

Congratulations to the newest US Citizen. . .
Francisco (aka Frank) Schmalbach!
Frank had a nice surprise today when he went in for his citizenship interview, he was sworn-in as a citizen. Normally, it takes a couple months after the interview for the swearing-in to take place, but since Frank is serving in the military they decided to speed things up! He is excited to vote in his first election next week--a reminder to all, VOTE!
p.s.--For those who don't know Frank is married to Michelle's sister Nicole.

I wanted to share with everyone a little bit about our beautiful, boisterous daughter Evelyn Kim. She is definitely the glue that keeps our family in check each day. Never does a morning or bedtime go by without Evelyn making sure hugs and kisses have been given by all (whether or not wanted by a certain older brother)! All of her activities center around accessories--for example, swimming includes goggles, dancing includes tights and tutus, pancakes include syrup, powdered sugar, blueberries, and sausage. Evelyn is exceptional about learning stories and song lyrics. She often sings to our family at bedtime, songs like Baa Baa Black sheep, Away in the Manger, and When Jesus Christ was Baptized. The other day, when she got off the bus, Evelyn told me that she sang Families can be Together Forever. I asked her who she sang it to and she answered "myself". Evelyn is our good girl and our family wouldn't be complete without her!
