Apple Orchards, Pumpkin Patches, & Autumn Leaves

There's nothing like New England in the Fall! Thanks to Aaron and the kids I know need to figure out what to do with 1.5 bushels of apples and 6 pumpkins. It will be a week of cooking: Apple sauce, apple pie, cheddar-apple soup, apple pecan salad, and a new recipe Peanut Butter-Bacon-Apple sndwiches! As for the pumpkin: soups, breads, cookies, and puree. They went to Windy Acres in N. Haverhill, NH with families from church. I went to a women's meeting for church in Burlington, VT and enjoyed music, lunch, and visiting with friends.
Sidenotes: *After scolding Kent for getting out of bed 5 times tonight, I sat down at the computer and saw typed on the screen "I love my mom and dad." Yes, I felt awful and went back to beg my son's forgiveness and profess my love to him! *Yesterday, Kent was trying to get rid of a little sister, so she wouldn't mess up his project. After telling her to go away a few times he said, "Evelyn, go to a hotel!" *Evelyn has a part in the church program tomorrow and has been diligently practicing her line, "I am thankful for my home and family." *The other night I made spinach and cheese raviolis for the kids, which Evelyn said was yuck! That night she said her prayers and asked for "good food, not raviolis." Then she gave me her best smile! *Oliver has begun a strange sleep cycle of staying awake one night and sleeping all the next. It's a little hard to adjust to which is why this blog is so scattered! Such is my life these days!
