Caledonia County Fair

On one of my more energetic days, I took the kids to the fair for 7 hours. Luckily, for most of the time my friend Julie and her son Nathan were with us. What we moms do to get out of the house! It was a chilly day that required take our jackets on and off! We spent a lot of time at the ride: Kent loved the "Rockin' house", Evelyn the "Land slide", and Oliver was in heaven sitting on the "Merry-Go Round." We also watched an Ariel show, ate corn dogs and maple donuts, visited the livestock, checked-out the RVs on display (or "house cars" as Kent calls them), and finally met up with Dad at the county Republican booth right before leaving.

Aren't they the cutest?
Kent declared that he looked like a good Thanksgiving dinner!
This is the first time Kent hasn't been skiddish around an animal and was unusually gentle. Although the resemblance is a little scary!
The baby buffalo gave the willing Oliver a few licks!

The kids also marched in the fair parade with Aaron in support of our
Lt. Governor Brian Dubie.
